I just downloaded your radio widget. It does not seem to work. It looks for something in realplayer ( which I have) but does not seem to find what it wants.

I am sorry to hear that my widget did not work for you.
You could check if you are able to listen to a live radio station from within a web browser (not using the actual RealPlayer application)? If that doesn't work, then there is something wrong with the RealPlayer installation.
Do you have the latest version of RealPlayer? Maybe that could cause problems.

Though BBC's Radio 4 works:

BBC 7 doesn't. It seems to default to the last station played and it plays that instead:

Alex,
the link you posted uses Flash player. The widget relies on RealPlayer. It is a player embedded into the widget and I don't think it suports any stream in Flash format.

Nice widget, with a couple hiccups. I was able to download, and after some glitches, got going. I could not get WAMC to load, and I'm not able to now delete it from my station list (delete button doesn't function on that station; does on others...). I was able to load a number of the SKY stations, plus Michigan Radio (WUOM). I also had some initial problems with the display not matching the station that was playing, but that seemed to be because of delays in the RealPlayer catching up with the current station.

An update...I am having a problem sometimes switching stations. When I select a new station from the menu, the station name and URL update, but the feed sticks on the previous station.

Thanks for reporting these bugs.
I have been working on a much improved version. Especially loading and switching between stations has improved a lot, as well as feedback to what realplayer is doing (loading, buffering, etc.).
I am hoping to have this update ready in about two weeks.

Does it allow URL from Windows Media Player?
So far, I have not been able to get the player to tune this radio.
The radio that I tried to listen works with WMP exclusively.
This is the URL:
mms://200.59.146.10/radioaspen-ba
for FM Aspen Classic from Argentina.
I've just tried to set BBC Radio 1 with the RealPlayer link, but I couldn't either. It saves it in the stations pull down list, but when it is selected nothing happens.
The idea is great, just one widget for the different radios. A pity that it did not work for me. I'll keep an eye in the 1.o version !

RadioTuner does not allow URLs for Windows Media Player. I hope this will change sometime after version 1.0.
Yes, please keep checking for version 1.0. I am sure BBC Radio 1 will work.

Have just downloaded your app - it seems to want a real player plugin to work - but i already have realplayer and the link works fine within the prog - new Intel Mac - could this be the problem?

I am running OS 10.4.5 on a G5 iMac 20" 2.0 ghz. I have realplayer 10 installed and the RadioTuner Widget works fine except for the volume slider. Anyone having the same problem?? Is there a work around to get the volume control to work?

There is a bug with the volume slider... you have to click to the left or right. I know it's not great but it still works.

I just installed your Widget, trying to make some myself...
Anyway in your share list link for Classic 21 in Belgium is not working here in Belgium, I have sublitted via e-mail the updated link, plus others from the French speaking radio station s in Beligum, Also some links open in iTunes and not RealPlayer so I am not sure if they will work with your applet but can be used via iTunes...

Can't figure this out...I copied/pasted a URL from your shared list, then saved, but nothing happens. Also cannot change the round button between pause and play -- constantly stuck on the two vertical lines (does this mean "playing and ready to pause" or that it's already paused??) I know my RealPlayer is working, and I can indeed play the station from its own website. I thought widgets were supposed to be easy! Perhaps my user error?

I am bit puzzled about these error messages by RealPlayer. Can you make sure that you are using a link to a RealPlayer stream. I found this one for KOIT 96.5 FM:

or this one for slower connections:
http://koit.com/2005/dialup.ram
both of these work fine.
Last check, there is an issue with the new intel-macs... so in case you are using one, check the post on this blog.

it worked for me.
now, is there just silence but it looks like it is playing (the play button switched to pause)? did it also say "contacting" and then "buffering" for a little while underneath the station dropdown menu?
just a few thoughts... hopefully it helps.

have you tried listening to the station in RealPlayer? It sounds more like it is a problem with the stream and not with the widget.
What is the station you are trying to listen to?

I'm a listener of KGO Radio in SF. They have a Real Player URL that can be used in Real Player, but when I post it in RadioTuner, it begins to buffer and then I get a "stopped" message. Shouldn't it play all Real Player URLs?

Great widget! But on my 12" Powerbook 1.5 it uses more than 1% of processor time even if it's not active. When it's playing it uses more than 30%. Is that normal?

The "add station" function isn't working for me. When I click "add station" the drop down window opens and the station name window highlights but it won't accept any text. Any key I press just makes the error boop noise. Same thing if I highlight the "link to live stream" window.

Love your widget. Since I upgraded to Leopard, I am having a problem. The widget works fine as long as I am in the widget screen. Once I switch back to the main screen, the streaming stops after a short time (< 1 minute). If I go back to the widget screen, the stream rebuffers and plays, until I go back to the main screen again. The bottom line is the widget works fine as long as I am in the widget screen, but stops once I go back to the main screen.
Has anyone else commented on this or is having the same problem? Thanks.

same here. RadioTuner would not continue streaming after I leave the widget screen. I also did an update from Tiger to Leopard.
Still, RadioTuner is great and I hope that there is going to be a fix some time. I miss my music. Thanks a lot.
